The Ant and The Elephant "Adam,
I need a Hand” And
out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and
every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would
call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was
the name thereof (Gen 2:19) Can you imagine that? God brought all the animals
to Adam like he was their father; and he gave them whatever name he
liked. So
I asked myself, was it that the God who individually named each of the
billions upon billions of stars, (Psalm 147:4) had run out of names? Or
was there more to this gesture than meets the eye? A
cursory search through my bible surprisingly yielded some equally
strange questions: -
At the Garden of Eden, why did God have to visit Adam and not the other
way round? - Why were the Israelites asked to march around
the wall of Jericho even though it had nothing to do with its downfall? -
And haven’t you read in Numbers 14:14 where Moses actually talked God
out of destroying the children of Israel? Was the all-wise God all of a
sudden in need of advice about the consequences of His actions from a
man? The
point is, dear Friend, God wants to get man involved in His work; the
incidences just mentioned and others I’ll later site clearly show the
depth of relationship God wants to have with man. Like a dog does when
playing with her pup, He sometimes makes us do things that He would
normally do. John 6:5,6 shows Jesus demonstrating this principle,
"How are we to buy bread, so that these people may eat?" This
he said to test him, for he himself knew what he would do. The
Genesis of the Revelation However,
it looks like many a Born-Again Christians have a tee-wee wrong idea of
who God is. Some approach Him with trepidation and uncertainty. To them,
God is like a harsh albeit rich father who has to be begged and cried
into answering their prayers. They take the holiness and awesomeness of
God to the wrong conclusion - "too great to be approached”. Others
do worse, they leave Him out of their lives completely: they feel He’s
far too big or too busy to be bothered by their petty woes. But
there exists the wise ones, who dare to take Him at His word, and take
Him as their partner. Matthew
6:33 Do
you believe these things, (John 11:26)? Can
you handle it? Can you accept the fact that the creator of the universe
abides in you? Can you come to grips with the fact that He who owns the
cattle upon the thousand hills, (Ps 50:10) asks you to give Him 10% of
your income? And how about what Paul calls the foolishness of preaching?
(1 Cor. 1:21) The
bible says we are co-workers with God, (2 Cor 6:1), and the purpose of
this message is to dare you to upgrade to that level. It takes faith
though, for without Faith it is impossible to please God. God wants to
involve in His work at a deeper level. Now
things all of a sudden look different; service becomes a privilege;
every work for God now becomes a not-to-be-missed opportunity because
it’s an honour to be working with God. God’s
saying to you, "we are going to transform lives, you and I; we’re
going to change this world". It’s just like flying around in Air
Force 1; except that it’s not the president of the United States that
you’re flying with, but the commander-in-chief of the entire universe.
Isn’t that incredible? "Nice
Try Greg, I Saw Through That” I
am not saying that divine blessings are tied to, or are commensurate
with your work for God; but how many persons would like their partners
to, (for example), be sick all the time. In those tag team wrestling
matches, the wrestlers never allow their partners to suffer. They
stretch their hands, stomp the floor and shout out for their partners to
come on and make a tag. That's
the kind of partner I have; and He's a powerful one at that. Anytime the
enemy buffets me around, left, right and center with his arrows of pain,
temptations and trials; I do not despair, all I do is turn to my partner
and make the tag. Friend,
if you aren't deep into God enough to call Him "partner",
you're missing a lot, (and that's just saying it modestly). God Bless You.
